The Gilroy Police Officers' Association would again like to thank Sandy Moretti, owner of Sandy's Cafe, 6120 Monterey St, Gilroy. Gilroy Police Officers, including SWAT members, and outside agencies responded to a critical incident in January, 2014, where guests from an adjacent hotel were evacuated. Sandy went out of her way providing food, drinks, and restroom to use to Law Enforcement personnel and evacuated hotel guests. Sandy personally prepared food since she had already sent her cook home due to the closure. Her acts were appreciated by every GPOA member involved in the incident, as well outside agency officers.
On 5/21/14, members of the Gilroy Police Officers' Association (and Gilroy/Morgan Hill SWAT team) presented Sandy with a plaque of appreciation.
